Forrenford

A personal piece for a novel I'm writing in my free time. 

Forrenford is a tangle of ancient ruins and bridges that span the Forren river at the frozen north west tip of the continent. It is mainly used by Sentinel hunters as an outpost during hunting season. Fresh kills can be stored here for a time before being transported downstream to their main settlement.

Forrenford is also the main entry point into Sentinel lands, and the first sight seen by travellers coming from Ivorton. Crossing the bridges is seen as a tradition for any new settlers wishing to join their small community. As such, they are well maintained.

Otherwise, the ruins of this land are left untouched. Both to preserve what remains, and because the Mokai lack the ability, or understanding, to repair or recreate the stone-like material they are constructed from.
